NON PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN BALTIMORE HELPING BALTIMORE CITIZENS

Here are more great stories that focus on indviduals and nonprofit community programs in Baltimore City.

Baltimore City is the landmark of many historical battles and events. Now known to many as the Charm City, some of its residents say they see “no charm in it”.

However, contrary to what many may believe, Baltimore City has proven itself to be a city that cares about its citizens.

The following articles highlight three nonprofit organizations in Baltimore City that aims to help and improve its citizens. Many of these organizations are free or low cost and all provide Baltimoreans with needs that they otherwise may not be able to acquire.

The Esperanza Center located in Fells Point helps new immigrants adapt to life in Baltimore City.

The Esperanza Center is a nonprofit organization that is funded by Catholic Charities. The center is ran entirely by volunteer workers and provides community services, health services, immigration legal services, and English as a second language classes to new immigrants entering Baltimore City. Vehicles for Change helps another Baltimore citizen

Sabrina Batten is the receipient of a new 2005 Ford Explorer XLS that she received from Vehicles for Change, a nonprofit organization that provides vehicles to individuals in need. Vehicles for Change is a nonprofit organization that provides cars to low-income families. The cars are donated by local citizens and are given to families for little to no cost. Allowing individuals to purchase cars for a reasonable fee, allows for better employment opportunities and independence to families who are otherwise not able to afford a reliable means of transportation.
